Kookoolan Farms is a small, pasture-based, diversified family farm. We offer chicken eggs from pasture-raised hens; a tiny vegetable CSA (now taking three more subscriptions!); specialty fruits including pomegranates and figs from our small orchard (in 2010); pasture-raised chicken, pheasant, turkeys, ducks and other poultry; and tiny volumes of custom-processed, pasture-raised beef. Custom-processed meats must be reserved in advanced, purchased while the animals are still alive, and purchased in shares. Beef shares available in late September 2009. Lamb is sold out for 2009. Red Bourbon Turkey available at Thanksgiving. Call or email for details or to reserve.
We offer a full line of cheesemaking supplies, ingredients and equipment -- virtually anything you need to make any kind of cheese your heart desires is in stock now at Kookoolan Farms. We also offer classes for home cheesemaking, home dairying, and other topics.
Our vegetable garden is now supplying our own family, four CSA subscription families, and a surplus besides. Fresh vegetables from our own organically-grown (certification pending) gardens available in our farmstore daily.
