Hillsdale Farmer's Market, this is the only farmer's market where you can buy Kookoolan Farms products, and one of only a couple year-round farmer's markets in Oregon. Markets are always Sundays 10am-2pm. The market runs weekly May through October; twice a month November through April. It's a wonderful market and if I'm not actually in my booth, you'll probably find me walking around the market doing my own grocery shopping. Condiments, homemade pasta, pastry, bread, soup, cakes, cookies; fruits and vegetables and mushrooms; several local artisinal cheeses; chocolates and candies; potted landscape and food plants, knife sharpening service, beef, pork, lamb, fish, and of course poultry. It's all here and most vendors are certified organic. These are the only 2009 market dates for Kookoolan Farms: April 19, June 28, July 26, August 30, September 27, October 25, and Nov 22.

The Cheese School of San Francisco is the only independent institution of its kind in the nation dedicated entirely to helping people maximize their enjoyment and appreciation of cheese. Their cheese education curriculum is designed to satisfy food lovers of all types, from the merely curious, to the serious cheese enthusiast, to the food service professional. They don't have any classes (yet?) on how to make cheese, but they have lots of classes *about* cheese, including tastings, pairings, appreciation and history, and classes for professionals on the procurement, selling, storage, and serving of cheeses.
Culture Magazine is a new, quarterly, national magazine dedicated to the appreciation of cheese.
